Pricing Guide
How much does mobile billboard advertising cost?
Mobile billboard advertising typically costs $800–$1,500 per truck per day, $3,500–$6,500 per week, and $12,000–$20,000 per month for a standard 8-hour daily route in a US metro. LED billboard trucks sit at the higher end of that range than vinyl trucks because the screen is full-motion, and multi-truck or multi-market campaigns are quoted at volume rates.
Typical LED billboard truck rates
Ranges below reflect standard US metro pricing for one truck running an 8-hour route. Your exact rate depends on the market, the calendar, and how many trucks you need.
Single-Day Activation
Best for: Event days, grand openings, trade shows, one-off stunts
- •8-hour route
- •GPS tracking
- •Photo proof of play
- •Creative swap same day
Weekly Program
Best for: Product launches, hiring pushes, promotional weeks, GOTV
- •5–7 route days
- •Daypart optimization
- •Route logs & impression report
- •Mid-week creative changes
Monthly / Always-On
Best for: Brand awareness, multi-location retail, sustained advocacy
- •20+ route days
- •Rotating neighborhood coverage
- •Monthly performance recap
- •Unlimited creative rotations
Six things that move the price
Hours per day
A standard shift is 8 hours. Shorter 4-hour activations cost less per day; extended 10–12 hour or double-shift AM/PM coverage costs more but drives frequency far faster.
Campaign length
Day rates are the highest per-day price. Weekly programs usually save 10–20% per day, and monthly or annual programs save the most. Longer flights also compound recall.
Market and route
Dense metros with high dwell time cost more than secondary markets. Routes that require deadhead mileage to reach a remote venue or event add travel time to the quote.
Number of trucks
One truck builds coverage over hours. Three trucks build coverage over minutes. Convoys and multi-market rollouts are priced per truck with volume discounts.
Creative production
If you supply LED-ready artwork, production is minimal. Design, animation, or video editing is a one-time fee — far cheaper than the print-and-install cost of a static board.
Timing and demand
Peak windows — Super Bowl week, major conventions, election season, Black Friday, festival weekends — book out early and price higher than open calendar dates.
Mobile billboards vs. other local media
CPM is cost per thousand impressions. Lower is more efficient — but commitment and targeting matter just as much as the number.
| Medium | Typical CPM | Minimum commitment | Targeting control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile LED billboard truck | $2 – $6 | 1 day | Street-level, route-by-route |
| Static roadside billboard | $4 – $12 | 4 weeks minimum | Fixed location only |
| Digital roadside billboard | $6 – $15 | 4 weeks typical | Fixed location, shared rotation |
| Local radio | $8 – $20 | Weekly flights | Station format |
| Local TV spot | $15 – $40 | Weekly flights | Program / daypart |
Ranges are industry estimates for US local markets and vary by DMA, season, and inventory availability. Request a quote for exact pricing in your market.
How to budget your campaign
Work backwards from coverage, not from a round number.
1. Define the footprint
List the ZIP codes, corridors, venues, or store trade areas you actually need to reach. One truck can meaningfully cover roughly one dense urban core or two suburban retail corridors per day.
2. Pick frequency over reach
Outdoor works on repetition. Five days in one neighborhood beats one day in five neighborhoods for almost every local objective.
3. Choose your dayparts
Morning and evening commutes maximize vehicle impressions; midday and evening maximize pedestrian impressions. Event days concentrate both.
4. Add a creative line item
Budget once for LED-ready design. After that, swapping messages is free — so plan two or three creative variants to test.
5. Compare on effective CPM
Divide total spend by estimated impressions, times 1,000. Then compare that number against the local media you're already buying.
